Default What Are Benefits of Dual Voice Coil Subs???

I hear alot of hype about them so I purchased three Rockford rfp he2 subs. Is there anything out of the ordinary thats good about these subs?? Are dual voice coils that much better than single voice coil subs??

the main difference is its versitility with amps. you can get difference impedances with them (OHMs).

It all depends on which amplifier you plan on running to them.

I have a 2 channel Soundstream 1,000 watts peak.
I forgot the model #.
When wiring them in series,... do I leave one of the speaker inputs alone???

I tried that site first and I got a little confused with their diagrams.
It seems like they have 3 subs wired in parallel going to a 2 channel amp. I tried the same thing and I'm getting alot of "clipping".
I'm gonna try to wire the subs in series and bridge them at the amp.
DO I just leave the second pair of terminals on the sub alone???

tell us what impedance, OHMs, those subs are. and if they are DVC or SVC. i think HE2 comes in SVC?

a DVC sub will have 2 sets of terminals while SVC will have 1 set of terminals on the woofer.

then see if you can find out the specs for that amp or at least a model #.

They're rfd 3210 4 ohm subs dvc.
The amp is Soundstream 2 channel, 800 watts, I think.
Model # PIC 880 stable @2 ohms stereo.

Wire the voicecoils for each sub in series.
Then run all three subs in parallel.
Then you will have a final output impedance of 2.66 mono.
You amp should be able to handle such a load.
Everything (voicecoils and subs in parallel = 1.33 mono).

doing that, should he bridge the amp? i cant find info on the minimum impedance for bridging the amp.
