Bolting Down Box
Take the trunk mat out so that it's easier for u to screw to the box. You want to use at least 2-3 screws depending on the size of the box. Get a respectively sized 1/4 - 1/2" wood board so that it adds a more secured hold. So basically it's going to be wood board on the bottom, trunk mat in the middle, then the enclosure. Use a good 1 3/4" wood screws. Put everything back in the trunk and have fun!
If I were you I would not bolt it down. Get some of that anti skid stuff you put under your rugs in the house, Its like a rubbery matt that you can put under the factory carpeting and under your box, this way you can easily remove or move around the box and it wont slide, just my $0.02
i wouldnt bolt mines down either. its too much hassle. although it does its job. its also a thief prevention technique depending on how you do it.
i would also look into anti-skid stuff...maybe even velcro.
my boxes are usually too heavy to slide around during normal driving. and i take them out when i know im going out for more spirited driving.
