Default New amp for some Alpines type-s

I have 2 alpine 10" alpine type-s subs. I got them awhile ago and was powering them with a JL Audio 250/1. And the amp worked good untill yesterday. The light would turn on but it wouldn't hit at all. Basicly i blew the **** out of my amp have no idea how but i think the ground wire came lose when my friend was looking for something.

But what would you guys sugest as amps go. I was pretty happy with my JL 250/1, think both subs could handle a 500/1 or what woud you guys do?

I am looking to spend around 400 at most.

Well, you could spend $100-150 fixing the 250/1 or pick up a 500/1 on ebay for $300.

Your choice...

if you blew the amp, that should tell you something, either there is a serious problem with the wirring to the subs, or the amp is total crap... could possibly be a combination of both.

get an Alpine MRD-500 and make sure everything is wired correctly and the ohms of the speakers are not too low for the amp.
