****ty Reception
I got a new JVC cd reciever installed today. My reception was really ****ty with the stock radio, so i hoped a new head unit would help it. BUT, i still get really bad reception. So i guess i need to look at replacing the antenna. Is this a simple task or do i have to run a whole new wire from the deck?

are you sure you have a good connection between the antenna wire in the back of the deck and the actual antenna on the roof? Sounds like something is loose. I'd look into that before putting in a whole new antenna

Yea i was thinking about getting a booster...but it should be picking up more then one station. We have dozens of stations around here it should be able to pick up. The one it does pick up is right down the road. Even the display radios at best buy pick it up with out an antenna plugged in.

this radio does have XM capabilities, its the JVS KD-L1000. Its a sweet deck. I got the antenna problem fixed though. Down by the steering column i found where the coxial cable came in from the antenna and followed it until i came across a place where it plugs into what seems to be an extender. I unplugged it and plugged it in again, but didnt work....then i pulled it out a little and turned it and bingo the reception picked up. Then just carefully pushed it back up into place.
