stupid stupid question.... amp bridging

I tried bridging my amp before and well I go output from my left fron speaker but the right was not working. I recreated the side of my amp.. can someone draw it up and show me how to bridge?

speaker output
+ left - + right -
CH1 X X X X
(front)
CH2 X X X X
(rear) + mono -

before I connected the + and - of the CH1 to my left front speaker
and I connected the + and - of the CH2 to my right front speaker.

I switched the amp to (4-3-2 channel switch) to "2".

I only got output to my left speaker...

Legend: "X" represents speaker output terminals
All other markings are stuff that's written on the amp around this area.

I've found that all amps are not the same when it comes to bridging (i.e. Kicker, Rockford, Alpine, PPI are the ones I've dealt with)... Do you have your manual handy??? If not, try looking at the manufacturers website on how to do it.

the eclipse site says nothing.... and I dont have the manual.. it was bought from ebay.

The amp is a eclipse 3640.

the switch needs to be at 4 channels...the front channels will be 1 & 2 (Stereo) then the rear channels will be 3 & 4 bridged (mono)!
