Default Car Stereo Help

Hey all,

This is my first time on the message board and I needed some help with Car Stereo installation in my girlfriend's 1992 Civic Sedan. I wanted to know if it is possible to fit 6"x9" Speakers on the rear deck? If so, with how much modification? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I've fit 6x9's in rear decks before, none civics though, so I really can't give exact details. If it doesn't fit easily, you could always cut the hole out some to make it fit your 6x9's. also you may want to check the audio forum and ask in there.

I think you'll get more response with this thread in the Audio tech forum, I'll COPY this there for you, so you can check both places.

rear decks are 6.5" on that car. just wondering, why do you want 6x9s there? do you already have a set? otherwise, i dont think it would be worth the mods of cutting up the sheetmetal.

yes, its doable...but why waste the time and cut up the car.

I was told that they were 6x9's originally. So thats what I went out and bought for her.... Then I found out that they are actuall 6 1/2" round. So, I have the 6x9 now and I guess I am just going to find a way to make them fit. Thanks for your help

Well guys, I put in those 6x9's and it was surprisingly easy. That rear deck was no match for the Sawzaw. That thing went right through that sheet metal like a knife through butter. Anyway, I was able to put in the whole system and those 6x9's in the rear sound great! It was a very painless mod and they look/sounds great. Thanks for all your help!
