kenwood kdc-mp532u displace wont light up..
 

almost a year ago exactly, i got my fiance' and i one of these head units, and i took hers in before the 1 year factory warranty was up because her volume switch was acting up sometimes and the display wasnt showing info... they fixed the display on hers, simply using an eraser... but during the time i had dropped hers off, my unit stopped displaying info as well... the unit still lights up the back lit stuff, but the digital display info isnt working... it plays well also...

hers is good now but mine i cant get to display, i tried the eraser thing on mine but it doesnt help. i put my face on her player and it displays on it, so the problem is on the actual indash part...

i tried brushing the female connector but it wont work! and it sucks not knowing what mp3 is playing or not being able to tweak my stereo settings.

i thought about using electrical cleaner but i dont want to mess it up, but maybe i may...

any suggestions? my warrantys are now up...

the problem is not the face plate once again... its on the indash section.

It'll cost more to fix than replace.

kenwood gave me an extra month extention on my warranty, took it in, got it fixed for free. the dude said it needed a bit of a resoldering. im a happy kenwood user now. the usb option was the selling point with this unit. i dont have to burn cdrs anymore! just load my flash drive and go.
