well ive decided to get 2 12's for subs and build my own box.. what subs?
well, i want 2 12's that are somewhat nice and afordable. ive decided to build my own box to save money and give me something to do during the winter.
i already have a kenwood amp for my 6x9s and components, so i was thinkin another kenwood amp for power, just to match. the matching isnt really important, but right now, i have sony, alpine, pioneer and kenwood. it would be a little too ghetto for me to have another amp thats a different brand and subs that are different too. what should i do for subs and an amp? i dotn want insane bass, just enough power to keep the subs running nice. |
It is in no way ghetto to have mix and matched brands. Some companies make great head units, while their amps are lacking, and some make great speakers, but don't even make head units, etc...
Anyways, how much do you have to spend on your subs and amp? |
this guy offered me 2 12" eclipse subs in a box and a 620w jensen amp for 420.. seems like a decent deal
|
as far as max price.. i dont want to spend all that much, maybe like around 400 for everything, rmember i can build the box, sot hat doesnt come into the price

Will, you are not going to suggest IDQ's?!?!?!
I would run IDQ's ported at 1.25 cubes net each and slot port them (10 sq inches each) to around 30Hz. Feed each 300W and be ready to have a stupid grin ear to ear. |
idq's?? never heard of them..
