Looking for alot of help here... Want amp for highs and one for bass

ok i got a 1998 honda civic and im looking to put some beat in it. I got a 500 4 channel kenwood amp for my highs but the wiring is not hooked up on it right. I think i know how to set it up now.. I got all the power , ground and speakers wire stuff but lets see if im doing this part right. THe rca cables i only have two running to the amp so they power up my 6x9 in rear and the two front i believe 6 1/2 are powered by deck. I have an alpine deck and i have two rca cables run under the other seat for my bass. Now someone told me to run them two other cables with the ones for the high amp so now it would give me four on high amp and now i could power up all four speakers off the high amp and just run another set of rca cables across from the high amp to the bass amp. Is this correct? so this way deck would have no control over bass right? Cuz my deck has a option for subwoofer volume. Is this really not necessary? Please h elp me out guys

How many RCA outputs does the back of the deck have?

i believe its only four. .. ill pull it to see for sure but i am pretty confident on it having four...

OK, you have a few options. If the deck has a front and rear outputs, I'd run that to my four channel amp. Now, the amp should, hopefully, have a single output that you can run to your sub amp. This option, if available, should sound much better than the current setup.

Now, the truly correct way would be to buy a new deck with 3 pairs(six) of RCA preouts. Front, Rear, Subwoofer. This way you have full control over fade, balance, and subwoofer level(granted the deck has that feature).

ok didnt pull the deck out yet but i looked up the specs so we know what we really dealing with here.. Its a cda 7893 and it does have 3 pair of rca outputs.. Now with this setup now i can follow what you quoted earlier correct? Run two pair to highs and one to bass amp?

Yes, you can run it that way in light of the fact that you have 3 pairs of RCA preouts.
