So whats a good radio for a low cost?
Well i just got me a new 95 civic DX and i have about 300 to spend on a stereo and im just trying to get some ideas on what are some good ones. My friend has a Panosonic and its a cool little thing, but ive heard that Alpine is really good too. So someone reccomend me something good.

Im really happy with my Eclipse CD5000. 8 volt preouts, 3 preouts plus a aux in. Lots of Xover features, 5 different color motorized face. Pick one up for 250.00 on cardomain or prlly cheaper on ebay.

I have the same deck in my car. retails for about 550.00! (its a steal for 250.00), I've ran alot of different decks in the past including kenwood excelon, alpine, pioneer, and eclipse. by far this is my favorite deck I have ever owned. not only does it have all the features listed by thi3v3z, but it also includes a 7-band paramic eq (not graphic, which allows you to "tweak" the eq alittle better), time alignment, and is HD radio ready. You can also go onto a website that eclipse provides to fully customize your settings on the deck by burning to a cd or memory stick. the only complaint i would have is that the screen is hard to see in direct sunlight and is not colored (dot matix type). the 5 color scheme that thi3v3z is refering to must be the illumination effects on the buttons at night.

Word, CD5000.
If you would like to spend less, and go used, the Alpines with glidetouch (9853/9855) have not been having the best resale, but they are still killer decks.
What features do you need? $300 is more than enough to get a great HU.

I ran a 9853 for a few months before it got stolen... absolutlely loved the deck. I think glidetouch just got a bad rep, it is very unconventional, but when you figure it out, it works good.
Alpine just made it a little more complicated than it should have been.
