What? So right now you are only using 1 voice coil?

Lets clarify this for everyone.

Post the model of the amp and the model of the sub.

i have the LX2-1000 power acoustik amp
i have the alpine type R DVC (4ohm VC's)

the amp is rated at 2 ohms X 2 at 280 rms
4ohms X 2 at 220 rms
4 oms X 1 at 560 rms
the amp is not rated 2 ohms x 1 ->this is the way i will be wiring it all up.

Theres a few ways to do it.

You can wire the voicecoils together to get a 2 OHM load and wire it to the amp without bridging it. But you will be only getting 280 watts and not using all of the amp.

You can wire the voicecoils to get a 2 OHM load and bridge it to the amp. Then see if that will bring it into protection mode. Obviously, if it does, then this set up wouldnt work. This is risky though.

You can also attempt to not wire the voicecoils together, but wire each one directly to the amp and give each voicecoil 220 watts. Just be very careful about setting the gain and crossover the same. Kinda risky and ghetto also.

Quad 4 ohms comes from your two 4 ohm DVC subs, correct? Hence, Quad 4 Ohm. Meaning you can only wire them down to 1 or 4 ohms. I think 16 ohms is possible/necessary but don't quote me on that

He has one from what I've gathered.

Yes and no. Yes it would run for a short time. No it wouldn't last, it would heat up and go into thermal/protect.

So then the only thing you can do it run each channel to each coils. Dont forget to use only one channel from your headunit.
