Default Remote Audio Controls

The stock remote audio controls on the steering wheel stopped working. I didn't replace the radio or disconnect the battery. Two of the buttons do nothing and the down volume now works the horn. Whats up?

i dont have much info in it... it it seems like the clockspring failed.

its a part inside the wheel that allows connections to stay connected while you turn the wheel.
