Dead Battery
 
I was trying to install an amp in my car. i unhooked the negative from the termnal then when i hooked the wire to the positive it sparked now my battery wont see to hold a charge. any ideas what happened?

big spark or little spark are you saying that you touched the posts on your battery together?

little spark from the power cord of the amp to the postitve term. sorry worte that fast

How old is the battery?? What you described shouldn't have hurt anything. What kind of amp and what watt rating??? List the RMS rating please.

Thanks for the replies apprently i need a new connecton to my battery after about 20min of wiggling and tightening the car sarted up fine and also last night i had enganged the alarm and was unable to disengage it until a few min ago

clean the posts on the battery and the connectors on the wires. I believe baking soda/water mix with a wire brush works well.

Yea i did that starts up fine now and the subs are working great
