So i'm been looking around and i keep seeing things about breaking in subs. Anyone ever heard of or done this? One way i saw was to hang your sub free of obstruct and give it half the rms for like 6 hours then gradually turn it up. anyone have any experience with this?

 

u always break in subs, i usually use a bass cd to break em in

i mean i would break it in with tones and stuff, but is this something i should be doing cause i have no idea.

 

Just take it easy with the music if you are concerned.

 

just play it at your regular listening level.. they will eventually break in.. you can hear them hit more responsive and cleaner as the days go by..

 

I suggest only turning the sub up 3/4 of the full volume for a full 24 hour listening time. The whole point of breaking a sub is to allow the glue to heat up and cool down. Not allowing the glue to cool down and harden can distort the cone.
