this may be a stupid question but.....
i need some help, the stereo in my 92 si isnt working. Its a kenwood, and it was doing fine until one day it just stopped. I put the face on and nothing shows up on it. It still ejects and takes in cds but thats all..is it just that its broken and I need a new one or could there be a fuse that can control this? I would think that if it still ejects that the rest of it should work, but I dont know for sure. thanks for any suggestions.

I know I had a problem with my Kenwood excelonin in the past, the face plate display fried. However you could still push the buttons and get it to work. Try reseting the deck and see if that helps. I wouldn't think it would be a fuse though cause it wouldn't get any power to eject the CD.

Not all aftermarket decks requires a code.
If there is power to eject and take in a cd, and the buttons no longer function and the display doesnt work...sounds like the face is done for.

When you put a CD in, does it play?
I know when I put a CD in my Pioneer, it would play automatically once it is in. It wont require me pushing any buttons.

Dependingon how old the Kenwood is, there may be a security code. That is, if it was set by the user. There's a master but I don't remember it anymore. Sounds like another case of a bad rdio, new radio time for you.
