Default Double DIN in an 06 accord?

Has anybody tried installing a double din head unit into their 03-06 accord in the lower space with the honda oem kit? I was thinking about doing this but I am not sure if the opening will fit. I would love to see pictures if anyone has them. I have seen the threads with people cutting and bondo-ing but this would be nice if it fit right in. Thanks

Heres a pic of the honda oem kit, - imagine it without the pocket and cassette player

Assuming you are talking about the oem hu, I dont want to use that goofy kit that you have to buy, plus its single din. And I dont want to get the lower kit that metra and scosche offer because its only single din. I want to do a lcd screen but ive seen that the flip out type interfere with the volume knob so the tilt of the screen isnt right. Thats why I want a 2 din unit.

Yep, it looks like an opening to fit a double din. But I have no idea how it goes depthwise.

IT goes pretty deep and the oem player panel (face-plate for the lower opening) has a double DIN opening. I wish metra or some other company will make a hot double DIN HU, but nooooo, they didn't. For now, i plan on putting the doule DIN pioneer AVIC-z1 in this opening.
