Default 6x9 problem or not

Just bought some boston acustic 6x9 (60 rms) for my 03 accord installed them this weekend. Is this normal that they sound like crap connected to the factory stereo compared to stock, the stocks have bass and sound much cleaner. I have the amp (300/4 jl audio) but didnt have time to install. Is this an indication that speakers are going to suck or will the amp make all the difference in the world once its hooked up. appreciate the feed back, oh also wich wires are pos/ neg rear speakers on accord 03 thanks

An amp will make a HUGE improvement. Are you sure the polarity is correct??

LF Spkr +/- green/black - lt. green
RF Spkr +/- green/ylw - grey or grey/red
LR Spkr +/- blue/white - blue/black(some models blue - pink)
RR Spkr +/- pink - blue/black(some lt. green - purple)

I suggest getting speaker harness clips for 6.50 and making this much simpler.
