Default Need car alarm suggestions

ok, i need to get a car alarm installed in my 2002 civic. it already has automatic doorlock. i don't need anything fancy.. just the plan basic type with starter kill, dome lites, panic alarms, etc. don't need any 2 ways or anything like that.

my budget is around $100-$150. is that even remotely possible? are those DIY possible?

Ive seen really really basic remotes go for around that much installed. So yes, its possible. And of course DIYs are always possible depending on how familiar and comfortable you are with wiring.

so what brands out there are around that price range? cuz the ones i've seen in some private audio/security shops are at least $200 and up.

i'm on with wiring.. it's not too hard for me.

I remember seeing them that cheap when places like Circuit City or Best Buy offered free installation with their alarms. At stereo shops, they wont get that low.

What city are you in>?

stick with DEI alarms, everyone knows how to instlal/service them, so if you ever have a problem basically any alarm guy can help you out, not to mention they work very well
