Default Replacing stock speakers 91 accord EX

Hi im not really familiar with my accord, or cars for that matter, but i really want to get my speakers either fixed or replaced because they seem to have blown out or something weird with the wiring, not really too sure. I haven't gone to a Auto shop to get it checked out or anything. I was just wondering approximately how much it would cost to get my speakers either replaced or to just buy new ones and get them installed.

You'll need speakers harness clips that will run you about 6-7 buck per pair. Doing this was greatly simplify polarity identification(+,-). Are you looking to go for aftermarket speakers or OEM replacement? You have 5.25 inch speakers up front and 6X9's on the rear deck. Taking into account the age of the vehicle, it would be wise replace all four speakers, especially if they are the original factory speakers from 91'. UV damage and dry rot have most likely taken their toll.

OEM
paper composite parts = poor sound quality
max watt rating of 10

Aftermarket
poly composite parts = better sound quality
max watt rating of much > 10.

if you're not into music, don't listen to music much, or tune into AM the majority of the time, by all means, go cheap.

If you do like music, listen to music loud, and want something better, go aftermarket. There's LOTS of brands to choose from which accommodates any budget.

He asks because that can also play a big part in what speakers you should get. The stock radio has a small amp that is not going to be able to power a nice ser of comps. Before suggestions....

-How much are you willing to spend?
-Are you going to replace the stock deck?

If you are ONLY going to replace the stock speakers, I would suggest getting a set from crutchfield.com. I say that because they have great customer service and they will actually walk you through the whole installation. And with the purchase of their speakers, they will also give you the speaker harness made specific for your car. That will if it a simple plug and unplug, rather than cuting and splicing.
