Would changing just the speakers help?

My 2006 has NAV, so no way I will change the radio, but I was wondering if swapping out the rear 6x9's with something with more range (maybe Alpine) would help in any way?

I may even do a sound-proof on my Accord. I did it on my Tundra and let me tell you, it was quieter than my Accord, and the Stereo really cranked.

Here is how I did my Tundra (which I sold back in Feb so the wife could get her Pilot). I have a ton of the BrownBread left. Just look at "Silence of the Tundra". It was a fun project.

You sure have a lot of cars. :happysad:

But anyway. Generally speaking, the stock speakers arent great speakers at all, so swapping them out will give you a nice improvement. However, you have to realize that you only have a certain amount of power to work with using the stock headunit. Have you thought about adding an amp to feed all the speakers a bit more power? Have you swapped out the fronts yet? Getting a good set of fronts will give you much better sound because you are much closer to those speakers and they play the part of imaging with your system.

If you can, I would get a 4 ch amp and swap all the stock speakers out.

(Off topic, but with the website that you linked, how did you get the pictures onto the side of the page like that? That is something that I want to do to my webpage so that you can scroll down the picture thumbnails independantly of the rest of the page. Thanks :oh: )

I used Front Page, and that page uses FRAMES. It's a template within FrontPage.

I too am thinking of doing something about the sound system. I noticed that the stereo on the 6-speed V6 is listed as having 180 Watts output while the Automatic has only 120 Watts. I doubt if they used a different headend on the 6-speed models... it's probably an amp that increases the power.

I also would like to find a way to connect up my iPod to the audio system. I'm trying to figure out what the "aux" button is supposed to do and how to connect up to it.

Have you pulled the radio out?? I haven't personally seen the back of the 7th Gen radios, but I highly doubt that it would have an AUX Input. Ive seen a mod somewhere to turn a factory CD changer control port to an AUX Input. The 7th Gen actually has a radio relocation kit through scosche that allows you to keep the factory LCD screen. You have NAV though, Pioneer has a badass double DIN NAV setup. Its the AVIC-D1. Heres the link to it on scosche for the relocation kit for anyone w/o NAV http://scosche.com/scosche_caraudio....&CategoryID=78

Just get a cable that fits the speaker jack of your ipod. The other end of the cable should have the same jack. Plug the ipod into aux and play it.

Honda is coming out with some expensive accessory that will let you choose ipod songs from the stereo. A lot of people are asking why they would want to give up the convenience of the ipod navigation system in favor of a crippled system that you can access through the radio. The aux plug works just fine - about $6 at Radio Shack; about $12 at Best Buy.

I would love to be able to do that. However, the '06 Accord EX with Navigation does not have an Aux-in connector! :(

Sorry-I thought you had one.

Can you get the Auxiliary Jack added in? It plugs into the wire harness.

Wish it was that easy! There is no such accessory for 2006 Accord with Navigation.

Sorry to hear that.

Did you check with a stereo shop? They might be able to figure out how to plug one in.
