Default 2002 Civic. Change Radio, lose Remote and Alarm?

I heard a rumour that if I replace my factory CD player, I will lose the Remote keyless entry. True?

I believe that you can get a special harness so that you can retain the keyless entry. Dont quote me on that though.

i've heard that as well, but i'm unsure. if not, i believe you will lose @ least the keyless entry, because it's control unit is inside of the stock stereo/

If you have a Tweeter near you, they sell the special harnesses for retaining the stock radio in order to keep keyless entry. It's what I did on mine.

oops spoke too soon - they're right you don't need to do anything on an '02. The information is still there for anyone with an earlier model civic though
