Default need part identification

i have a 1999 honda civic EX 2-door. i recently had problems with my alarm ( prestige 986t,the alarm would not disable so i disconnected the brain) so i decided to take a look at it. i think i may have found the problem , i also found these items by the driver's side kickpanel. what are these items?

looks like an battery backup for your alarm and a ripped rca. i'm not sure what the shiny box is, but it looks frikkin' huge. if you take off the tape on it and get a closer pic it might give use some more hints.
