do you think this will be good enough to power a sub that peaks at 400 watts rms?

A sub doesnt "peak" at 400 watts RMS. Peak and RMS is completely opposite.

If you have a sub that is 400 watts RMS, you probably should get an amp that does more than 300 watts. That will decrease the chance of you clipping the signal. You also have to look at the impedance and make sure they match up.

What sub are you powering? What price range for an amp are you looking at?

I would not recommend getting the crunch amp because my buddy has had 2 and both of them were faulty and crunch did not supply a new one to him. They were saying it was his fault, but he could not get it to work from the beginning.

May just be bad luck but i would not recommend it.

damn, i wanted to get something cheap, i could get the cardomain extended waranty, but i don't wanna go through all of the trouble of returning it. i think ill go with the 300watt blaupunkt one, it's cheap and it has good reviews.
