Kicker solobaric L5 or L7
 

hey wassup peeps,

im having a lil problem. I currently ordered 2 kicker solobaric L5's but the stereo shop that i bought it from said they're on back order. Anyhow they have the L7's in stock but i'll have to chip in an extra amount of money. My question is are L7's really worth it, or should i just wait till i recieve the L5's?

The L7's handle more power and with that, should get louder. What size L5/L7's are you getting?? What do you have to power them?? If you don't have enough power for the L7's, then just wait for the L5's.

The L5's that i'm getting are 12's. I don't actually have an amp yet, but i was deciding on a kicker kx800.2 or kx1200.1.

I hope you have a lot of trunk space to give up. Ive seen l7's in HUGE boxes.

If you go with sealed boxes, the kx800 should be fine with either ones. For ported, I'd go with the L7's and the kx1200.

L7s don't need that big of a box compared to other subs in the same catagory. i have a L7 12 in a 2.25 cuft Ported box and that thing slams with 1 or 2000 watts depending on what amp/amps i decide to hook up to it.

I really like my L7. 1 12" doing 146.6 dB is pretty good if u ask me, in a 2.5 cuft ported box. I'm puttin 920 W to it, and I use it for SQ as well as SPL. I won't be happy until I hit 150 with 1 12" though :)

Do the L7. Not only does it look better (titanium cone), but will handle more power than the L5, so even if you just push 700W to it now, youhave the overhead to do more if you want later.

Thanks for your input guys. I just ended up adding the extra cash and i ordered the L7's. Im just waiting for them to arrive. :D Im most likely gonna put the L7's in a ported enclosure. As for the amp, i was thinkin about a Memphis Mojo 2000d or the kx1200.1. BTW..what kinda amp are you running your L7 Diabolik?

A Rockford 800a2. I am planning on going with a PPI sometime in the near future. These subs love power so I want to give it to them ;)

Wow..thats a pretty good setup you got there diabolik. I was thinkin of going rockford too, but rockford amps cost a lot.
