Default *HELP* Screwdriver went through speaker rubber part *HELP*

I was screwing my 10inch jl audio, and when i was screwing it in the screw driver slipped off and went through the rubber ring around the speaker. The hole is'nt that big and the flap of rubber is still there. What i was wondering is; is there any way i can fix this so i dont have to buy a new speaker?
is this gonna effect sound quality or will it sound just as good?

im so fuckin pissed right now...... Please someone help me, i dont wanna spend any more money!

I had some close calls with this.

If you are worried about money, I would just patch it up. I am not too certain about the type of adhesive you are going to use though. Let me poke around.

Well, it sounds like nail polish or caulk is a good fix if it is not too big. Patch it from the inside. What type of surround is on the W3? Foam or rubber? I only mention because caulk fumes can eat away certain foams.

The surround is there to keep the voicecoil moving straight up and down. I dont know if it will affect sound. :happysad:

the speaker also stays linear by the spider(s) (yellow things under the cone).

my buddy used some clear nail polish and a square of panty hose (sounds homo huh? LOL) and he fixed his uber expensive Cerwin Vega Stroker 18 just fine.

I did the same thing to my old JL W4 12 and I just said screw it and whaled the hell out of it, and honestly it didnt tear any more... may have gotten lucky.

Just use some silicone... works fine. Some people claim that it will affect the weight of the cone and all, but I definitely could not tell a difference. No need to worry, you fucked up, just not that bad.
