So I really need a Cap? Pleease Help :(

HEy

I have an 02 accord, and as of now I have a 5 channel MTX amp (MTX THUNDER 4405) in my car hooked up to my stock HU. However, the amp powers my components, rear 6x9, and a 10" sub. Next week my new Headunit (alpine cda-7893) is going in along w/ a new alpine cd changer. Thus, should I invest in a cap, or will I be fine w/o one? Please comment and leave Feedback :( Thanks :)

probably not.. what does the accord alternator spit out as far as amps?

Nah, you probably won't need one...just look for your headlights dimming. If they aren't, that means they can keep up with the rest of the stuff drawing power from your car, and you don't need to worry about it.

normally caps are used if you have a separate subwoofer amp. I have a 1000 watt sub amp and I don't even use a cap:p and no, my lights don't dim. You'll more than likely be ok without a cap also.

you can use a cap at anytime, whether its a good investment is an ongoing argument. anyways
1000 watt sub amp? how big is it? i would guess you would need something like 6 batteries and 2 alternators to provide enough juice to power something like that. dont listen to manufacturers ratings, they're never right.

If you havent had any problems before with your amp drawing too much power, then you probably wont need one now. A new head unit and changer isnt going to add to the load.

Thanks 4 the help bro. Now however, I have a new problem :(

My component speaker just blew (drivers side 6.5inches). So now I need a new set of components, I'm looking at the Focal polykevlar 165K and the DEI 3065...which one do u recommend? I have kenwood excelon 6.5 components which sounded good but kinda bright. Which would be a bigger upgrade over the kenwoods? thanks

Btw, it is for an 2002 accord coupe (6.5 inch opening), but the DEIs only come in 5.25 and 7" sizes, if I went w/ DEIs, which size should I get. I do not want 2 modify my stock speaker location too much at all.
