How much for a pair of 10's

I'm looking to put 2 10's in the wheel well/trunk of my 98 Accord Coupe. My question is three fold
1. Is this the best place for them, considering I do use my trunk every now and then.
2. What type/make would work well with my soundstream 305 amp?
3. lastly, any one thing that I should just get one 12 and call it a day?

Any and all advice will be taken into consideration.

1. if made well, yes. you save room in your trunk, considering you toss your spare for a can of fix-a-flat.

2. depends on your wallet. and list the specs of that amp.

3. depends on your wallet. i have one 12...im happy with it, for now.

all depends on what kinda s*** your gonna get. i would rather go wit 2 10's and get a punchier bass beat. I have a 97 accord coupe and 2 10s wit a 800 watt amp bumps pretty good. i recommend getting the same brand amp/subs/head unit that way you can have the best quality sound

I disagree with getting the same brands all the way through the system. You really have to find things you like and go with that. The first question is what type of music do you listen to the most. That will pretty much determine which of the sub combo's to buy. As for the placement in the tire well, you can do a lot with that using fiberglass or not to make the bottom of the box and just raise the floor a couple inches and make a false floor so that it looks like there is nothing there and you can keep all of your space. I know a lot of people dont like them but I think a JL W3 would probably perfectly matched with that amp. If you decide to go with one 12 then I would suggest the W3 with dual 2ohm VC's that way you will get a 4ohm mono to the amp. With my dealings with Soundstream you definitely dont want to go below a 4ohm load on that amp. They get very hot and have a tendency to burn up if pushed to hard.

If space weren't an issue, I would defiantely get two 10's over one 12, oh yeah, I highly recommend against getting the same brand for everything. For instance, Alpine makes good head units, but their speakers are only so-so, their mid-range amps are nice, but their sub amps don't have much balls. Different companies are good at different things.

Image Dynamics require little air space, reproduce sound accurately, and can be had with a reasonable budget.

I kinda like the deeper bass of a 12. I had two 10's but too loud in my opinion with only 240 watts to the pair. I im going with 1 10 and only 120 watts and blends much better with the front stage. Depends how loud you want it to be and if you into loudness or sound quality. I saw a tl with 4 10s at a stereo shop with a false floor and still pretty good trunk space. Remember if you take up the spare tire you have nothing to save you from a flat. Thats why i haven't. I have a 4 hour trip to school and don't want to get a flat where there is no cell phone coverage.
