Default Custom Fiberglass?

Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me out with one of my problems. I know custom fiberglassing like for subs and amps in the trunk is like anywhere from $60-$80 an hour, which is a little bit more than I wanted to spend. Do you suggest I should go on Ebay and bid on a already built fiberglass box and hope it fits my trunk? And also I was wondering if I don't take it to a shop or buy it on Ebay, how hard is it to make my own fiberglass box. For example how much hard labor is involved and how expensive are the materials. What I would like to do is to build something along this line...

building something like either one of those isnt that hard its just time consuming. read up on doing fiberglass work and then see if you think you can do it.
good luck

Thanks man, but those to me look pretty hard. I mean I like the wavy and bumpy look not just like the flat box.

if anyone would do all that work for under $1000 then you got a deal... i have been doing fiberglass for a couple years now, and to do a full trunk with fiberglass and vinyl and everything is some pretty expensive shit... you got at least 15-25 hours involved, not to mention materials...

start by cutting wood rings that fit your speakers, mount them in the positions you want. stretch some polar fleece over them into the shape you want. use a paint brush and soak the polar fleece in epoxy. when that dries lay the fiberglass over it. when its all dry lay on some bondo sand it till its smooth and get it painted.

Alright thanks guys. And yea I know d16y8hcivic it is expensive as hell for that kinda work. But how expensive is it for the materials to do it for yourself, and where do I buy them. Any local stores sell materials for the job?

try this site... http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/main/

im not sure where you are from, but where i live i go to like lowes, home depot, autozone, wal-mart for the fiberglass... the lycra material you can get at any fabric store, the wood rings, either make them or buy them online, the bondo should be bought at an auto specialty store... i used auto-zone bondo and it cracked within a week, did it over with Rage bondo and it has held for years... i can show you some of my product if you are interested
