alarms...
what alarms do you guys have? how do you like? recommendations?
 thanks.:) |
Most alarms are the same, most are made by DEI I think...so most function the same (eh, I guess alarms are supposed to). Alpine has one that's REALLY good, but it's expensive and very few even know how to install it. Otherwise, check out some Clifford ones, I read somewher they are ok.

I use Code Alarm. Independent company, so they are a little different than DEI or Alpine or Clifford. VERY good. I've had my system for 2 1/2 years and no problems. Thing I like about it is that the siren doesn't sound like every other siren out there. It will actually draw a little attention when it goes off (after all, isn't that the point?)

i've had everything from radio shack alarms (when i was 16 - take it easy) to alpines in my cars. now i have a clifford matrix 3 in my civic. i think it's the best out there for the money.

i'd go with clifford intelliguard 7000. i found it for $250 w/o installation, so about $380 for the alarm and installation.

do you guys think that glass sensor really does a thing when proxy sensor is hooked up? i mean the outter zone proxy would detect the movement and trigger the alarm before someone having a chance to use the duct tape or spring punch to break the window, even though the shock sensor is not triggered. and if the outter zone failed, there's still inner zone to back up. glass sensor is not cheap, if an alarm has already included proxy sensor, do u think that glass sensor is still worth adding?
