keyless entry
 

I just bought a 97 Civic EX. Everything is stock except for the CD player. The only thing wrong is the dome light and keyless entry don't work. I have talked to a few people and they say it's because of the CD player. Is there any way to kep the CD player installed and get the keyless entry and dome light to work. Since I bought it used, I don't have the old stock radio. Any advice would be great.

I know it CAN be done with a few jump wires in the fuse box, I just don't recall which they are. The other way is to keep the stock deck and jam it back in the dash and wire the new on in parallel... But don't be discouraged. SOMEONE will know of hand.

You need to get an aftermarket keyless system since the factory keyless was built into the radio. If you still had the radio it could be salvaged but not without it. Aftermarket systems go for about $40, domelight is just a matter of jumpering two wires. Domelight supervision with keyless is a matter of wiring a relay. So basically keyless hookup is:

Power
Ground
Lock (green/white)
Unlock (green orange)
Domelight supervision (relay - power, ground, and keyless brain signal)
