what would happen if..?

If it sounds stupid, pardon my ignorance.:oh:

Say you have two 10" DVC(dual 4 ohm) subs and each is wired for 2 ohms. You have a mono amp that has two pairs of +/- terminals but are connected together internally(so for example if two 4-ohm speakers are connected, one to each set of terminals, the amplifier will see a 2-ohm load, because the terminals are internally connected, in parallel with each other...got it from crutchfield). So my question is, what would happen if you connected each sub to one pair terminals(one speaker, one set of terminals) if your subs were wired like what I just said above? I hope that made sense.

depends on the amp. that would drop the impedance of the speakers to 1 ohm. the impedance on most amps isn't rated that low unless it's a high end amp. it would probably draw too much power from the amp cauing it to constantly overheat and go into protection. however id the subs were wired for 4 ohms then it shouldn't be a problem.

yea, youll get a 1OHM load. my old JBL bp600.1 did just that, and played fine at 1OHM. it depends on the amp, weather or not you should do that.
