speaker VS speaker

What makes component speakers so much better than coaxial speakers?????

Components usually have better power handling than coaxials. Plus, they allow for better imaging, as you can place the tweeter and mids in different locations.

Typically also components have higher grade cross overs while most coaxils only have a capacitor for the tweeter. I have seen a few higher end coaxils such as cdts. Image dynamics has a set that can be either a component or coaxil. Coaxil can actually be very good because all the sound is coming from the same source but most are cheaply made as an entry level set.

i went to sound advice and they are selling a pair of 6.5 boston acoustic components for 199. they can handle 75 watts of power.

What exactly does the crossover do for the speakers

Not bad, you can get mb courts online for probably about the same price or less that take 100W RMS and I have them. They are some bad ass speakers

the crossover sets a cutoff for the speakers to only produce certain frequencies, ie you don't want a tweeter trying to pump out bass
