Alpine MRD-m301... anyone have any experience?
Lately i've been looking around for a mono amp to power a single 10" in my car. I've looked around, read the reviews i could and have decided between the Alpine mrdm301
http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...&oid=90882&m=0
or the older (cheaper) design Alpine mrp-m350.
http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...&oid=69339&m=0
I like the older 'v-power' because its obviously cheaper and slightly more powerful, But the design is outdated by the newer 'V12' series amps.
I've shopped around and have been able to find both for under $200 so the price difference is not really a problem. Just looking for any positive or (especially) negative experiences with these amps.
Was also looking at JL audio but they are a bit too pricey for me.
Help me decide please.

Not looking to win any competitions or anything. Just the start of a well rounded system. Want the cleanest sound possible. Will be setting up some infinity components in the front later on.
Also does anyone know if speakers made by Hifonics are high quality?

I like Alpine's digital amps due to the fact that they are very clean sounding. The drawback is that I really haven't been inpressed with the power output of the 301 for what it costs, but for a 10", it will still make a hell of a good amp.

I think the sub i have is 4 ohm. I'm only getting 175 rms with the setup but it sounds clean. If i were to jump to a 2 ohm speaker I'd be running 350 rms. :eek3:
