Is it possible?

Is it possible to bridge a 4 channel amp @ 100 each to 1@400w to 1 sub?

derf 08-09-2002 10:15 AM

it dependes on the amp. i'm pretty sure some, but not all, have the ability to be a 4/3/2/1 channel amp.

why would you waste a 4 channel amp on 1 sub? get a 2 channel and bridge it. save the 4 channel for your speakers.

depends on the amp, and i wouldnt do it.

usually you can bridge a 4ch amp into 2chs. and if you sub is DVC, you CAN power it that way. but again, i wouldnt do it.

if i don't do it, u don't wanna do it, since im just an audio newbie;)

Possible, yes, with some amps.

Recommended, no...seems like quite a load, or at least a waste of a 4 channel amp.

you can get a dvc coil sub. probably dual 4 and do it that way.

yup. but you will always have that problem of matching up the settings to have the two VCs play exactly the same.

Different signal/power to the coils = :(

acuradriva 08-17-2002 07:59 PM

so match the power/signals :)

Not as easy as you think with analog controls :p
