how much do these cost??

20 feet 4 guage wire, 4 guage in/8 guage out Dblock, one 150amp mega fuse, and RCA cable?

b00gers 08-08-2002 11:16 PM

4 guage wire $.99/ft
d-block $10
150amp fuse $5-10
RCA $30+

that is a huge fuse btw. what amps are you planning to run, and how many amps can your alternator dish out?

steveng 08-08-2002 11:25 PM

i will be running two amps, one is 400x1 rms at 2ohm for the subs and the other is 4ohm stereo 70x2 rms. the alternator is stock, and i don't know how much amps it can put out

I would drop that fuse rating down to 60-80amps

smokedogg 08-09-2002 06:27 AM

when you said 150 amp fuse, i was expecting you to say at least 1000 watts total. i would definatly drop that fuse unless your planning on adding a huge amp later on.

smokedogg 08-09-2002 06:28 AM

in addition to my last post: im running a single amp at just about 1000 watts to my subs, with a fuse size of only 80 amps.

b00gers 08-09-2002 07:03 AM

that fuse will be wayyy too thick. take a look at both amps, take a look at their onboard fuses, add them up. that should be the fuse size at the battery.

even if you are getting a bigger amp in the future, get the right fuse now, and replace it later.

150 amp fuse!! sheesh definately do what will said. look at the amp's fuse ratings
also 150 comes in a fuse? i would think u would need a circuit breaker for that size

acuradriva 08-09-2002 07:13 AM

ANL fuses go up to 300 c/b's only go up to 150A.

are u referring to the fuse for the power wire from the battery?

i read an article saying that 125amps fuse is recommended size for 4 guage wire, and since i will be running 4 guage wire upfront, isn't 80amps to small? I told the guy at the stereo shop that i wanted 125amp fuse, then he said, he would increase that to 150amps upfront and leave no fuse from the Dblock to amplifiers :dunno: . im confused.
