Default speaker wire gauge

i've just installed new 6 1/2 and tweeters in my 92 civic doors and am in the (tedious!) process of replacing the stock wiring with some 16 gauge. will it make any difference that although there is 16 gauge from the speakers all the way to the HU harness, once it gets there, the harness wires are probably only 20/22 (rough guess). just a thought?

No, there will more than likely be no audible difference.

i bet you wont be able to hear a difference.

get an external amp, then upgrade the wiring to 16g. then you can hear the difference

now i'm wondering if i should rewire at all! if i'm just using the HU amplifier (4x52w) for the front speakers, should i just stick with the stock wiring and run the speakers in series?
