a yellow top optima is what ive been hearing..
anything else that i should consider? just dont want any dimming lights in the future, or battery trouble.

SVR - not an optima. Ask any shop that has Optima's and they will complain about all the turn overs from having to warranty those suckers.
Search on ECA if you want some backup for that statement...

Optima Yellow Top
Test 1 (350 Watts): 60.5 min. (1.01 Hour)
Watt-Min./Pound: 1.36 x 350 =476
Watt-Hours/Pound: .0227 x 350 = 7.9
Test 2 (Amps @ 10.5 V): 457 amps
Amps/Pound: 475/44.5 = 10.27
Weight: 44.5 lbs.
WestCo SVR 50-12
Test 1 (350 Watts): 46.1 min. (0.77 Hour)
Watt-Min./Pound: 1.281 x 350 = 448
Watt-Hours/Pound: .0214 x 350 = 7.5
Test 2 (Amps @ 10.5 V): 240 amps
Amps/Pound: 240/36 = 6.67
Weight: 36 lbs
I dont really think this is a fair comparison though, I am not sure which type of Optima Yellow Top this is. Weighing in at 44.5lbs, i dont think it is the D51 (supposed to be 26lbs.)

This is kind of an old thread but I recently purchased a new battery. I went with the SVR Audio Series battery. It has better numbers than the yellow top in most, if not all, categories. The Optima battery that was being compared in my last post was not the D51 size (which is the size that fits into the civic).

And I almost forgot to mention... When installing the SVR battery, I ran into a small problem. The battery tie down rods are too short and the tie down itself is too narrow. Have to go with 10" tie down rods and an aftermarket tie down. (SVR = 9.3" x 5.5" x 9.25") vs (stock = 9.3" x 5.0" x 8.0")
