k three ifers
i dont know about that one... but i have the older sony m610 (i think)... one of the first ones that .. maybe the first one that has the black screen (not sure at all really, but i think it is). i love it, but to tell you the truth i NEVER have it folded up when im driving. it is always down and i always use the controls, i never use my remote. even if i do use the remote, i still ahve it down h:
if you want a flat black deck.. go with the pioneer one, its also detachable.. which is key
just my opinion.

well i really dont have a space in my heart for Sony, but i hear that it is a decent headunit. Though it is probably not what you are looking for but does have a blackout feature (mainly to save power) my next purchase is going to be the Alpine CDA-9835, it comes out in March

sony decks have a horrible rep. i've played with quite a few and there's not much positive to say about them. Sony > * in all electronics except for car audio.

we'll i went against what all you guys we're saying and picked it up anyways
:happysad:
got it installed, and i do have to say so far i'm pretty impressed. The sound is clear, and it's made my stock speakers sound 100% better, and has added a little bass. As i said im not going the amp/sub route, but later i will be picking up some nicer speakers so i can crank it on the highway. The options are nice, and I must say DSP is a must, it really does work. My only complaint is that when the ignition power is turned off, and the deck is open, it won't close by itself. You have to press the close button, and then it'll do it, but i guess thats minor. If you close it that way when the ignitions off, it'll open itself when you start the car.
overall so far so good, ill let you know if it kicks so you can say "i told you so"
