Default any pro/con for used stuffs??

some local guy is selling his amp and 2 10"subs for 420. He claimed that they have been used for a year, with receipts. I am wondering if i should get them instead of spending 700 on a brand new amp, 2 subs and wires. if you were me, which one would you be getting, considering the value and sound quality
ok here is the amp he is selling
Alpine MRV-T757(2 channel)
Max 750x1
75x2 rms cont.
150x2 rms cont 4ohm
240x1 rms cont

this is amp i wanna get
Alpine ClassD MRD-m500 (mono)
900x1 max
400x1 rms 2ohm
200x1 rms 4ohm

P.S either one will be powering 2 10" subs with 300w rms

If you are willing to wait a month or so, I can get you the Alpine MRD-M500 and two Type-R SWR-1021D 10" dual 2ohm woofers for cheap. The reason for the dual 2ohms is, you would wire them in series to get a 4ohm sub each, and parallel them to the amp to get a 2ohm load on the amp. Send me an IM or a PM

used stuff...is well, used. you dont really know for sure how they were treated or used. or even hooked up correctly.

if you can afford it, get it new.

I have to order them from Alpine and they take 4-6 weeks to ship me the stuff.

Most amps run most efficiently at 2ohms. The alpine amp you wanted to get gives 400watts RMS @ 2ohms, but only 200watts RMS @ 4ohms. PM/IM me if you have any more questions.

Having a final output of 4ohms would be good if you were using a 2 channel amp because then you could run it at 4ohm bridged (effectively a "2 ohm" load, but I won't get into that). Since the amp you are getting is a 1 channel mono amp, you can't bridge it. Therefore it runs most efficiently when shown a 2ohm load. Theres some website that explains all this in detail. Anybody know the site?

I just bought my friend friend's system for $850. 2 Phoenix Gold amps ( ZX600 and ZX475) and 2 10" JL W3 D4's. Buying a used stuff is not really bad because you're saving money but if you can check it then that's good. I ask the guy to play the subs first before I buy it and he did. I even helped him uninstall the system out of his car. Right now i'm saving money to have a custom made box for my 01 accord 4 dr. Check it first before buying if you can.
