i think my amp died...what do i do now...

hey folks, long time no see!

ok heres the story. for the past several months, my clarion mp3 deck has been having faceplate contact problems. this has been ocurring ever since i accidentily put in a cd late and the plate closed on it.

whenever i drive over less than perfect road, it cuts off and i gotta pop off then reattach the faceplate to get it working again (that equates to approx one song per shut-off  , unless of course i'm driving in irvine and the asphalt is perfect, bastards :fawk: )

yesterday nite, i decide to put in an mp3 disc, drive over imperfection on the freeway, cuts off as usual. i reaatach and play the cd...and no sound comes out, cd plays fine, according to my deck.

i checked the battery fuse thing, it's fine. the 2 fuses on my amp are fine. BUT my amp ain't powering on!!!! i also reset my hu. any explainations? and what course of action can i take? !

what do i do?? silence on the road is agonizing.

thanks for whoever can help!

test the amp remote wire with the radio on...

Also, check your ground and make sure it didn't wiggle loose after going over all of those bumpy roads.

Check the contacts on the back of the face plate. My sisters deck had a problem similar to that, where bumps would mess it up. I took it off, and gently pulled out the contacts alittle more. Wouldnt be a bad idea to clean the contacts too. After that, her deck was good as new...actually it was new :)

You can also go and buy an electrical contact cleaner (the pen will dom, don't need to spend the extra dollars for the big can) from Radio Shack and clean the contacts off just to be doubly sure.
