I head a single 10w7 last week in a JL made slot vented box and it kicked very hard and sounded very nice...

when comparing those 2 you arent just comparing the size of the cone...those 2 subs are very different.
if you can afford it, both amp and sub, i say get the 10w7.
if you can afford it, both amp and sub, i say get the 10w7.

They are two very different subs mechanically and technically. Depends on your budget for each, the amp to power it, and the enclosure you are looking to build.
