it looks like hell cuz i lost the set screw on that one power wire, so im using masking tape to hold it till i find a new screw. this allows me to unhook my box in a matter of seconds and have it out of my car for racing. |

kick ass:thumbup:

now i just gotta figure out how to get a strut bar through that bish.
i think im going to fiberglass a papertowelign tube in there. |
i see 3 nays, whats the deal?

is the amp screwed onto the glass or mdf? i say its cool, but the carpeting can be a lil neater...but thats just cosmetics.
thats pretty cool how you did the power/rca wires onto the box. |

Looks really good! Congrats.
Just wondering what you did to design it and build it. Also, how's the sound quality? Does the subwoofer firing direction play any role in this setup? I have a coupe and I thought not having my sub fire towards the trunk latch would make the design more ineffective. Of course that's hatch vs. coupe so I am just curious if the direction actually matters in your setup. |
it sounds excellent. i only have 200wattsX10" because i just wnated finished sound. i didnt want the bolts coming off this car, and i wanted to be able to remove it for racing.
now the front and sides are plywood, and the back was fiberglass i layed in on a layer of masking tape, (3 actually), after the back hardened, (i used mesh), i fiberglasses that to the front of the box, with fiberglass over the face of the wood. I ran another layer of weave around the entire thing, and then used bondo to make it fit the top and sidewalls as close as possible. (laying fiberglass vertically is pretty tough). after taht i wrapped it in material and after some search was able to obtain all the passthrough cable support i needed with a little work and ingenuity :) |
redo the carpet and this time work fronm the front to the back. you don't want to see any seams

my friend will be making one of those for my fifth gen hatch soon once my interior is back in. His look seemless. Almost like they are supposed to be there. He is really good at that ish. Makes tons of custom enclosures.
maybe he will sell some for the hatches after he does mine. |

Wont be able to take it out to race if you have your strut bar through the middle of it.

i don't like where the amp is located. u can't fabricate something to flush it? I think the placement of the sub is in a good area. How come the carpet overlaps? hehe one more thing...how come there's a seat beat? it's that suppose to hold the box from moving?
