Default CAI bypass valves?

I've been hearing about a lot of people hydrolocking their cars recently due to intakes and i was wondering if bypass valves eliminated the risk of water getting in the engine all together or if it was just another precaution. Thanks

if you're that worried about hydrolock, get a comptech icebox (if they make one for your car) they guarantee no hydrolock, and if it does hydrolock, they'll replace your engine.

Will the bypass valve effect it in anyway, performance or sound wise?

They don't make one for his car.

You are pretty proud of yourself with that little signature aren't you? h:

As said above. If you are that cautious about the CAI and water, just get a short ram. That is what I did. I put in an Injen SRI but they do make the CAI extension if I want it. SRI's are even easier to put in. The hardest part about it was taking out the stock parts. You aren't going to get a lot out of either an SRI or CAI by themselves. So IMO, go with an SRI for now and make sure the company you buy from has an extension you can attach later on when you feel more comfortable.

Good luck on your choice.
