Default another coilover dilema

i went to a local shop here
he can get me the illumina true coilovers for 995, wont charge me tax, can have em in tommorow at 8 am. the accord meet is at 12-1 so there is a chance i might be able to roll there lowered.
problem is, i can do that, MAYBE have them installed, i'm leaning toward probably not: or i can wait, buy them for cheaper, and still have some money left in my bank account. or i could maybe buy them at a later time from him, get no tax, get them the next day and build good relations for future purchases

decisions decisions..

Would you be saving a lot by waiting?

don't worry about showing off your car... you'll have plenty of time to do that

so he checked that ws the RAK501 Competition series right?

I suggest you wait because installing them then adjusting them is crazy. Took me the whole day to do it all by myself, including install the camber kit, strut bars, sway bars, etc.

ok i guess i'll wait. but that still leaves the question on whether i should buy from him or the internet

i'll pay a little more, but it's just nice to buy from local shops and make good relations, especially on pretty big ticket items. spending a grand on suspension from an 18 year old who just walks in there is like...i dunno.

or should i buy from the net and wait and then me and my friend put em on ourselves? with shipping and tax and not buying from ebay, which i don't really want to buy from ebay, it really won't be that much of a difference pricewise. maybe 100 bucks at best

I recommend you buy from a shop kuz if it's the wrong thing, you can always exchange it. Make friends with them and ask them to give you at jobber price. it's should be 20% less than the retail. it's the price that they give out to local car shops + any other wholesale that's dealing with them. I"m lucky to have hook up at distributor prices (40-50%)

Try to buy online as least as possible.

anything over $800 is a RIPOFF on those. they are a great setup...but whenyou can buy for less why pay more?
