2003 Accord and Static Electricity

My new Accord Sedan with fabric seats generates an ungodly amount of static electricity when I exit the car. I try to ground myself by touching metal when I get out but sometimes that even hurts. If I have something in my hands and can't hang onto something metal I get a hell of a spark. I have to be really careful at the gas pump. Anybody else have this problem and how did you solve it?

I have leather seats and still get shocked sometimes. I just close the door by the handle unless I have my batting gloves on. ;)

I've got fabric seats in my 03 Coupe also but I never get shocked. Seriously, try a different fabric softener when drying your clothes. If you don't use it...start using it.
