You could change the gears in the Accord tranny...but if you go to all that trouble (unless someone happens to have Prelude parts just sitting there) you may as well swap out the tranny also.

Not saying it won't do fine on the Accord tranny but there are definite benefits to having the Lude tranny on the Lude engine and the main reason is the gearing so that it will get better response.

I know people that run the Accord tranny on the H22 and have had no issues but when we go to the track you can see the difference in times ran between the two.

Just more power.

The H-Series transmissions a greared higher for more out of the hole power. The F-series has a lower gear ratio that's why it is more fuel efficent and has a higher top speed.

I believe the F22Bx transmissions have a slightly higher ratio but only in 4th and 5th.

Really the only way to make up the difference is with power. If you are going to be doing auto cross then is just might be in your best intrest to go with an H22A transmission.

Now if you are going to build up and boost that H22A then stick with the F transmission. You'll have plenty of power to make up for it and you'll benefit by the improved gas milage.
