F22 Boosted???
sup everyone. after tons of searching through boards i have a couple questions concerning f22's and boost. assuming 8psi of boost from a t3 a/r .48 with proper fuel management and starion intercooler
1. What are the weaknesses of the f22a??? 2. What are the limits of the OEM rod, piston, crank, crankwall??? 3. With aftermarket rods and pistons for lower compression, will there be other weaknesses concerning the engine??? 4. What is the life expectancy of an engine with no engine work but with the assumed setup??? also assuming the engine is in good condition??? 5. Does anyone have pics of 4th gen's with turbo setups??? Mainly looking at turbo manifold designs. i've seen the turbo on top of manifold, on the side by the battery, straight out near the radiator, any other types out there and are there any major differences with the design concerning, efficiency, flow and lag. thanks!!! |
anyone???

Do a search there are multiple threads dealing with this...one is on this very page in fact.

looks like the f22 is pretty much useless for boost!!! little aftermarket pistons, rods, valvetrain. intake manifold sucks at flow. head also sucks at flow. oh well guess its a new engine for me to start out with!!!

I wouldnt go that far man. the f22 is very good for boost. It has great compression for boost its a closed deck. Pistons look into arias rods look into crower valves and springs look int ferrea. IM can be ported no prob same with head. If you want to boost just stick with the engine you have Tons of people boost them. Ill be boosting mine this summer. The F22 engine can handle 10psi on stock internals with either 450cc injectors and a safc or fuel pump and fmu unit. You really dont need to lower the compression at all just getting arias pistons will be just fine. Id suggest a better head gasket though.

sorry I guess I was just misinformed from somepeople Ive talked to. Oh well thanks for clearing that up for me. Oh by the way your engine is very impressive. Youve done a ton of work and I hope that you dont have anymore problems. Later

honestly not sure if u gonna find the answers u want here but i know u can find them on www.turboaccords.com many people there have T/C the f22 engine in both auto and stick
