Default Crazy Jumping Speedometer/Blinking D4 Light

Alright, coming home tonight I had a couple problems. My speedometer started jumping everywhere. I would be going 50 and it'd be at 0 MPH. It'd then continue to start jumping around everywhere. My D4 light started blinking as well. I heard of this problem before and heard its not an ECU code, but a Tranny code. Does anybody have any idea what I can do here? I'm easy on the engine, and baby it. I never accelerate rapidly, don't race or anything. Do the usual 75 on the highway. Nothing out of the ordinary. I looked under my glovebox and felt around and it was all wet, maybe due to the Air Conditioning? Why was it wet? Is it always wet? I've never really felt around there before, so I don't know if its normal. I looked under my glovebox by where the passengers feet would go and found a blue plug with a red stripe through it thats tied to a yellow cord. Is this the one I need? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need it. Pics from people who have searched for codes, or even if they haven't but just have pics of the cord I'm looking for would be a HUGE help! THanks a bunch.

hmm i had that problem with my taco and speedometer. the second i took my foot off the gas they'd both drop to 0 and jump back up again... for me it was my alternator so i bought a high output one and dropped it in with no problems since..

just another thought.

Yup, I'd take a look at your Vehicle Speed Sensor.

my car was doing that for a while after some runs. it'd go away and come back everyonce in a while. i thought that too much spraying finally killed my tranny and made it throw some codes. some people told me it was my TCM but it was actually because i hooked up my n2o pressure guage power through a relay fuse and the wiring was loose or something and eventually causing that fuse blew and then the symptons of a flashing d4 came back but the d4 wasnt blinking because all the lights, guages, sunroof, clock, power windows were dead. couldnt even get out of park unless i shut down the car, stuck the key in the little shifter release lock and put it in neutral and started the car. check your fuses and the speed sensor also like everyone else said.

Anyone know where the Vehicle Speed Sensor is located? What should I be looking for as well? Also, anyone about why under the glove compartment was wet, and where I can check for my tranny codes?

I just did the PaperClip thing where you stick in that blue harness, and turn the key. I got the D4 light blinking 4 times in a row repeatedly. Blink Blink Blink Blink.... Same thing. Any clue on which code this would be for? Thanks again.
