Default '99 Accord Question

I posted awhile back, and learned that there is a light in my shifter console (I have an auto) that should be illuminating the letters when the headlights are on. Mine doesn't work. Short of taking the car to a shop to find out what should be replaced, or fixed, does anyone have any idea how to change out or repair the bulb? I have taken a quick look, and there are wires that go to the console, but I cannot tell if they are for the light, or for the "disengage" when the brake pedal is depressed. If anyone could pass along some pointers as to how to change the bulb, or how to get to it, would certainly be appreciated. The manual is no help. Thanks in advance.

take out the plastic trim piece. 2 screws on top going in from bottom. then pull carefully

take the 4 screws out holding the gauge cluster in. pull it out and unplug the harnesses. i think theres 3 or 4 plugs. just unplug however many there are

change the bulb

reverse instructions

I think he's talking about the lights on the shifter console itself...by the gear selector. Mine don't light up either anymore

my bad. it would be fine if you had a 5speed. j/k. i think that should be easy. pull the cup holder out. pull the whole assembly thing up and out. find the bulb. not sure where it is exactly but its gotta be under there somewhere

hey schmiddy go drive around in the snow a little and make a video

I saw the earlier post and did kinda wonder if you might have been talking about the cluster on the dash. But, I thought what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Anyway, haven't worked on it yet, but from what I last recall in looking at it, it looked as if lighted console could be a bear to take apart. Maybe I'll luck out and prove myself wrong.

I would but there's too much snow! I was snowplowing this morning with my front lip. I'm afraid I'd get stuck.

Well, I pulled the cup holder and "top" part of the console, and I didn't see anything obvious. Just saw two red wires going into the shifter "box" right near D4. Can't tell if it's for a bulb or not. Don't want to break it in case it has to do with the disengage connected with the brakes. Any ideas? It's not as if I haven't lived without it working for awhile. It just now bugs me that it isn't working, and I can't seem to fix it.

Dude, I just got back from dinner with my friends downtown. They haven't plowed campus/downtown at ALL. My friends cars were all stuck in the snow, so I had to pick everyone up and drive them all. Go Accord!

Oh, and while waiting for my friend to get ready, I decided to go do some J-slides and donuts in the parking lot across the street. I had my engine reved high while spinning and my friend said to me "The baby in your engine is crying". I proceeded to open her door and push her out mid-donut.
