Default Vehicle Speed Sensor

So........whose got one for sale? I need it and don't want to pay $110 at Honda, or $104 at Autozone. Maybe I'll call a junkyard tomorrow. Little help please. I am driving to Orlando next month, and it would be great to know how fast I am going 100% of the time. Also I don't want to dip into my Florida funds that much.

dont ask me, but if ya find a cheap place, lemme know, cuz I am going on about 1.5 years without one. But dont worry about the trips, just flow with traffic. Ive driven from ft myers to Tampa a few times, the Keys, Miami, and just everywhere. They dont make much difference Other than my odometer is about 15k off. But it really doesnt matter, 190k, i wont be selling it anytime soon.

Yeah, I took apart the cluster and everything there is OK. Honda dealer looked at it (free) and said it was the sensor. I think I can get a used one from Honda Mendors in Denver for 45.00, but I am still trying to get ahold of them. Also Honda Recycling on the East Coast said they had one for 50.00, then emailed my back 15 minutes later and said it was 75.00. Hmmmmmm

yeah, you're gonna have to pay a pretty penny for a new one... in my old 90 I got one from a JY for $50... and they are pretty simple to replace... the intake tube is the only thing really in the way... then there is one bolt holding it in and one harness to plug in. The sensor being bad will also make the check engine light come on and the cruise not work... but im sure you already knew that!

Actually, the check engine light never came on. The speedo would read 20mph all the time. The cruise however did not work.

I just ordered one from HAP, www.haprecycling.com it was 45.00 plus shipping, it came out to 55.00. Not bad, it also has a 6 month warranty. So if any of you other guys need one, give them a call.

ah, ok... when they get really bad, and no speed registers at all, then the check engine light comes on... the computer dosent know what the hell is going on!

If its still reading something, you may want to check the sensor and make sure its seated properly in the transmission...
